Duplication?

[edit]

@ValeriySh: There seems to be two pages on the same subject. This page is less popular and has lots of images on it. The other one is more popular and has just one image, all by itself. I acknowledge I may have inadequate understanding of what's involved but is it possible there has been some mistake?

Don't trouble to explain it to me, just fix it or leave it alone if it needs no fixing. Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 12:04, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No. These are two different pages. The first page (Category: Prumnopitys ferruginea) is the main category in which all images related to this topic are placed (categorized). The second (Prumnopitys ferruginea) is a subpage (gallery) of the category (Category: Prumnopitys ferruginea), where the images are placed (usually the best) and which applies only to the plant itself (you can fill this page with images).
For example, other pages (galleries) and / or subcategories on related topics related to this role can be added to the main category. For example, on the topics: "Plant protection", "Distribution", "Human use in everyday life", etc. --ValeriySh (talk) 12:37, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I knew that. That's why I said don't explain it to me. Where I fiddle in Commons I suspect that those galleries are deprecated. It happens I was interested enough to look for a picture of a Miro tree and found there was only one linked from Wikipedia —through the menu at the side. And that link is to the gallery page with its solitary image yet there is another image on that same WP page. Somebody's thinking is (to my mind) screwed up on this - no, I don't mean you / your mind - and now you've just left me more confused. Is it just the case that the gallery hasn't been completed? Yes. The gallery hasn't been completed. --ValeriySh (talk) 12:08, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Should the Wikipedia article be connected to the gallery or to the category? (I think the mistake is that it is connected to the gallery) Eddaido (talk) 20:55, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
