Is there room here for Voltaire and Gerry Adams?[edit]

The category name is valid but it is wrongly populated. I propose moving the files contained here to a new category. I suggest *Republican Party (United States) and *Republicans (United States), following the English wikipedia. Somewhat perversely, US Republicans (with a capital 'P') are not neccessarily 'republicans' in the classical and general sense of the term. Republicans (anti-monarchists usually with liberal or socialist tendencies) are found in many other countries and republicanism (newly created category) is an historical political ideology quite separate from the politics of the US Republican Party. OK, I now see that we already have Category:Republican Party (United States), so that solves half the problem. Rather annoyingly, we also have Category:Democrats. I'll leave you to guess whether it contains democrats of all nationalities and opinion or just members of a certain US political party! So that's one more to sort out.
