@Buch-t: Have you seen the label on the vehicle? regards, Eddaido (talk) 22:27, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen this plate of the manufacturer: Winner Manufacturing Co., East St. Louis, Ill. It is for the manufacturer.
In the book American Cars 1805–1942 there are 2 different makes Winner:
No entry for a make Winner built by the Winner Manufacturing Company.
Do you have a source that the make of the car built by the Winner Manufacturing Company is Winner?
I have had a long discussion with User:Chief tin cloud about this car. Look at de:Diskussion:Century Manufacturing Company (Missouri). There was a connection between Century Mfg. Co. and Winner Mfg. Co. --Buch-t (talk) 07:26, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Buch-t and Chief tin cloud: After more than an hour hunting through old directories I suddenly had an idea. Have a look at a map and you will see that if you are in en:East St Louis, Illinois, you can walk over a bridge into en:St Louis, Missouri! I didn't know that either. I suggest that what you have called Winner Motor Buggy company is the very same, having moved a short distance, as Winner Manufacturing Company (which name will be more accurate) and the compilers of the reference book have decided to cut the detail. I am out of time and will come back to read your correspondence later on. Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 09:44, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The car in this category
I know the small distance between East St. Louis and St. Louis.
We have the advertisement with the name of the manufacturer Winner Motor Buggy. Tiller steering. No top.
We have the picture at Allcarindex with steering wheel. Same picture in the book.
We have Picture 1 and Picture 2 of the car at Málaga. I think: it is the same car as in the book and at allcarindex. (Of course it is not built by the Elgin Automobile Company in 1900 as written at flickr.)
The car in this category looks different. Colour of steering wheel, horn, lights and top. This must be another car. Perhaps same manufacturer. But we have different names of manufacturers. --Buch-t (talk) 10:15, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure I follow you. Do you think it is the same unique car, one-only ever made in all cases? Or do you mean a 1930 Ford should look just like a 1933 Ford and should also look just like a 1937-1939 Ford? Eddaido (talk) 10:37, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think: The car in the book, the car at allcarindex and the car in Málaga are the same car. The car at Penngrove Power and Implement Museum is a different car. --Buch-t (talk) 10:42, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You mean the same actual car and not just another example of the same model. The way I see it is this: That when activities crossed the Mississippi they may have been obliged to incorporate a different company because it was a different State and they were not permitted to use the Illinois name. I would be happiest if it all went back to how I had it (the pictures under Winner automobiles + any more you have of the same brand if that suits) and you linked category:Winner Manufacturing Company to Winner Motor Buggy Company or Century Manufacturing Company or whatever you wish but it is wrong to try to ignore the nameplate and I think there is every reason why it should be the same Winner brand in each case. If that does not suit you people please tell me where it is wrong. Maybe these other Winner automobile images should link to the other company(ies)?
I regret this but I find reading your discussions — following writing the above — that much of the same ground has been covered with better research. I find translating and following the logic of a quite long discussion too much for me but it does seem we are pretty much in accord, of the same mind. I don't mind what you do so long as you revert the removal of (my) images from Winner automobiles and leave (my) manufacturing company as it is, linking on to a new company if that is your decision. The vehicle was made by that firm and they put their name plate on it and its Winner. I'm not dropping out of the discussion I'm trying to say I agree but I don't see why you went changing what I set up. watching with interest, Eddaido (talk) 11:10, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One more picture of the car from Málaga.
I will contact the Museum in Málaga. Please wait a week. --Buch-t (talk) 09:36, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It has been my experience that museums and collections dislike providing any information at all about their exhibits (with a very few highly notable exceptions where they seem to see any form of publicity to be very welcome). I hope the museum in Málaga responds. Regards, Eddaido (talk) 12:07, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No answer from Málaga. --Buch-t (talk) 12:47, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
