Discussion
- User:SieBot and other bots are already doing said task. Will this bot also update the welcome log? 哦,是吗?(висчвын) 22:49, 07 May 2008 (GMT)
- This bot will also update the log. I noticed even though we have multiple other bots, not all users are being welcomed. Legoktm (talk) 22:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Please make a test run at low rate, to check everything's ok. Patrícia msg 18:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Contributions are here. Looks like everything is working. The first 4 edits were manually done to find a bug. Legoktm (Talk) 04:12, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Is it possible to update log less frequently (once per 5/10 welcomes?) --EugeneZelenko 14:52, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think it would be to more use if it was updated every 1 or two welcomes, so people watching the current welcome log, would be updated as soon as possible. Legoktm (Talk) 21:56, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately there are not too much reviewers :-( But frequent updates could lead to edit conflicts when reviewer delete reviewed items. --EugeneZelenko 14:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have changed it so every 5 welcomes, the log is updated. Should I make another test run? —Legoktm (Talk) 02:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- It think it is good idea. --EugeneZelenko 14:45, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

The need for welcoming bots will probably be drastically declining soon: Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#mw:Extension:NewUserMessage. Rocket000 05:08, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, "soon" in the MediaWiki world may not be as "soon" as we need the feature here ;). Patrícia msg 13:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, we should have this run until that extension is installed, which is not a sure thing even now. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 16:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok then. Rocket000 14:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

This has been up a while, anyone have a problem with closing this as successful, and granting community approval, and the botflag, with the proviso that it's restricted to the listed tasks? Speak up now please. ++Lar: t/c 01:10, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see no reason not to grant the flag. I have to say, my first impression by the bot's name was that it belonged to User:Lar :) Bastique demandez 20:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Heh. My bot ID is Larbot of course. (per common practice and convention) Believe it or not, I am not the only LEGO fan out there in the world :) ++Lar: t/c 20:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- No objections. giggy (:O) 02:41, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
