3,595 uploads let edits proper alone – seriously does Commons need to patrol his edits? Sysops, fix this misfortunate omission now. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 09:25, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
What is this request about if I may ask? --Vauxford (talk) 09:50, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
It is about decreasing overhead and backlogs of COM:Patrol by exclusion of contribs by good users from the pool of changes which wait for approval. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 13:04, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

AutoWikiBrowser access[edit]

I am already an approved user under my main account Diego Grez-Cañete. This is my account for use in public computers. Thank you. küñall (nütramyen) 19:55, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
We should really hear from @Diego Grez-Cañete about this.   — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 00:46, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: Can't respond using my Diego account since I am not able to access it! (sending an e-mail) --küñall (nütramyen) 02:58, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

In fact I would like to have my image reviewer, file mover and rollbacker rights added to my account, which I possess already in my main account Diego Grez-Cañete, for use in public computers. While it is true I have been active only from time to time, these tools would come in handy to help improve this site whenever I have spare time. Many, many thanks. --küñall (nütramyen) 19:51, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
Please also add the extended uploader right, since I want to upload some 2k files from the freely licensed Biblioteca del Congreso Nacional de Chile website (CC-BCN). Kind regards, --küñall (nütramyen) 19:53, 20 May 2018 (UTC) Oh, forget about it, I see image reviewer rights already include this! --küñall (nütramyen) 19:54, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

  • Pictogram-voting-question.svg  Question User:Küñall redirects to User talk:Diego Grez-Cañete, which claims you are {{retired}}. If this is now your main account, could you please make this less confusing? If a new user uploads a file that you move, and they want to find out more - are they supposed to leave a message on the talk page of a retired user who isn't even the one that moved their file? Storkk (talk) 15:01, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Storkk: I'll fix that asap. I will only be editing here and on Wikidata so I guess I'll redirect my former userpages to this account. --küñall (nütramyen) 17:43, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

@Jon Kolbert: Many thanks! But you missed adding my image reviewer rights! Kind regards, --küñall (nütramyen) 20:09, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
You have requested the reviewer's right at the appropriate venue and I left a question there for you. Regards. T Cells (talk) 18:36, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi T Celis, yes, I did. I did not expect questions, though, since it was supposed to be a transfer of rights. But it won't be trouble to respond :) I'll do so later today (24 May) or tomorrow. --küñall (nütramyen) 03:21, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Respublika Narodnaya[edit]

I propose myself as a filemover, because when I am making a logo, there are some typos that I make, and it would take a long time to fix the naming with the renaming request.Thank you.--Respublika Narodnaya (talk) 06:30, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

The recent example is this. It should says Haal rather then Hall.

Not done , per Jeff. Please use the {{Rename}} template to request renames. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 15:08, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

I'd like to request the filemover right so I can handle my own file moves as well as to better assist in the maintenance of Wikimedia Commons. I've made quite a few successful rename requests based on the Commons renaming guidelines. Thank you. clpo13(talk) 16:43, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
  • ✓  Done . Few recent renames, but none are problematic and user is highly experienced with the tools on another wiki. Storkk (talk) 13:30, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

I have begun to work with some GLAMs in Ireland, and have just done my first small batch upload with Pattypan. These files need to be renamed, and generally this right would be of great utility when I am working with new or inexperienced editors at editing events (pinging Multichill). Thank you. Smirkybec (talk) 16:02, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
@Smirkybec: I'm leaning towards granting this, since your renames have been fine, but could you please elaborate on why you uploaded them with the meaningless names to begin with? It would be much preferable in the future to upload them under the correct name rather than rename after upload. Storkk (talk) 13:38, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Storkk: Hi, thanks for taking a look at this. It was my first time using Pattypan, and unfortunately I misunderstood the documentation which resulted in the file names being the default ones from the camera when I had thought that they would be from the text I had included in the "title" field. Thankfully as it wasn't a large upload, so I was able to remedy it through requests. Lesson learned so that won't happen again! I would anticipate that in the future this ability would be of use when working with or helping new editors as they navigate naming procedures. It would also be of use around WLM and Wiki Science when uploaders use default or unhelpful file names. Hope that clarifies! Smirkybec (talk) 13:51, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Smirkybec: OK. ✓  Done . I've also granted autopatroller, since it doesn't make much sense to have non-autopatrolled filemovers, IMO... and because I appreciate that first time tool use can be error-prone. But please be a little more careful in the future, especially regarding vital upload information (source field). Storkk (talk) 14:41, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Storkk:Thanks very much! I really appreciate it. I will - the first time uploading is always going to be a little fraught. Using it on that small batch highlighted what fields are the most important! It is the very first upload of it's kind in Ireland though, so exciting times! Thanks again Smirkybec (talk) 14:46, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Biplab Anand[edit]

I am one of the active contributors of Wikimedia Commons and involved in Wiki Loves Earth 2018 in Nepal. I have been requesting for file name changes to filemovers till now, but I think the filemover right for me would make the process faster. Thank you. Biplab Anand (Talk) 16:34, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

I am quite experienced Commons contributor and I've made many requests for renaming, so I know guidelines for renaming. The rights would help me to contribute in easier way and I would also help other users with renaming. Thank you — Draceane talkcontrib. 16:29, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

I am a very experienced Commons editor with 50k+ edits (including 18k+ non-automated edits). I have made many move requests in the past, and none of them have been rejected to the best of my knowledge. I would like to have access to the filemover tools myself so that I can use tools such as Massrename, and so that I can avoid having to wait and pollute the backlog when I want to move a file. Thank you. IagoQnsi (talk) 03:28, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

I have been on here for over a decade and have had to request others move files found many times. This tool would save much work for others. Thank you. Ahunt (talk) 16:54, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

I have sound files to upload, especially bird records. As my recording device has a native mp3 format, it would be easier for me and probably better quality sound to upload only edited (cropped) files, without re-encoding. Thank you. GAllegre (talk) 19:10, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
