Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Amédée de Noé, a.k.a. "Cham", photograph.
Used in

Global usage

several wp, among them fr:Cham (dessinateur)
Reason New in "Commons", (except a small thumbnail). A ca.1866 photographic portrait of the famous french caricaturist of the 2nd third of the 19th century. Uploaded and restored by me, original version available on the file page. Best in scope IMO. Studio shot, no geocode needed. -- Jebulon (talk)

  •  Question Just on the scope: Would in not be better to use Amédée de Noé, (Cham), photograph. as a scope? a.k.a. means, as you may wel know, 'also known as', while Amédée de Noé is his real name. Moreover you linked 'Cham' to the category carrying that real name. (see also this proposal.) B.p. 12:26, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Interesting question. "Amédée de Noé" is absolutely unknown in France. "Cham" is very well known (I spend some time to find the right category of "Commons"...). On the original document, the collector wrote "Cham" under the picture. The french wp article is fr:Cham (dessinateur). That's why I made this choice. But, as "Commons" is "international", and as long as "international" will mean "english", you are right, I have to use commons "Commons" conventions. Therefore, I change (the name of the scope, not the scope itself, no need to restart the process of nomination here). You are lucky that in "your" domain, latin is still the international language ;) ! Keep going in that way, alsjeblieft ! Thanks for interest.--Jebulon (talk) 13:48, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
