Comment Hi Ikan, thanks. I had great difficulty trying to decide how widely to scope this one. I chose to limit it to just Rannoch Moor because that is the only place I have seen this style of rain-free and fog-free 'rainbow'. Suggestions are welcome though as to how narrow/wide a scope would be useful. Mistbow in Glencoe? Mistbow over a Scottish moor? CommentIkan, I couldn't find a more relevant category to link to. All the photos relating to moorland should be nested under the one I've chosen. The only alternative I can see, in the absence of any categories or articles relating specifically to mistbows over moors (and complying with COM:Valued image scope#Links in the scope) is to not link the scope to anything. -- DeFacto (talk). 10:05, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CommentIkan, that's a weakness of category navigation I suppose, it doesn't give a 'show all levels' option from any level. This photo is in Category:Rannoch Moor which itself is nested under Category:Moorlands, bogs and swamps - about 6 or 7 levels deep. I don't think there is, or even should be, a single category that directly contains other photos in this scope, even if there are any. To be honest, that's the main reason I initially chose such a narrow scope. Guidance on how to deal with this would be very welcome! -- DeFacto (talk). 11:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
CommentIkan, I did think of that too, but I couldn't find any other photo described using that word in Commons! Perhaps my image is of a humble rainbow and I am misrepresenting it as something 'special', but a rainbow with no rain seems like a misnomer to me, especially when 'fogbow' has been coined for the same phenomenon in fog. Okay, I created Category:Mistbows for it, and changed the scope and link from Category:Moorlands, bogs and swamps to that.
