Berlin: Die "Berliner Begegnung zur Friedensförderung" wurde in der DDR-Hauptstadt eröffnet.
An dem zweitägigen Treffen nehmen auf Einladung des DDR-Schriftstellers Stephan Hermlin rund 100 Schriftsteller, Künstler und Wissenschaftler aus beiden deutschen Staaten sowie aus weiteren europäischen Ländern und aus Westberlin teil. Unter ihnen sind Prof. Jürgen Kuczynski, Hermann Kant, Stephan Hermlin, Bernt Engelmann (BRD) und Ingeborg Drewitz (Westberlin).-v.l.n.r.
