Description

Voorheen O.L. Vrouwe of St. Janskapel. Een 8 traveeën breed kerkgebouw met koepeltorentje en klokkenspel. In het begin van de 16e eeuw gesticht, in 1707 aan de noordzijde uitgebreid en in 1760 grotendeels afgebrand en daarna weer opgebouwd. De kerk is in 2004 geheel gerestaureerd. Het bevat een Müllerorgel.

De Kapelkerk wordt gebruikt door de ‘Gereformeerde kerk Vrijgemaakt’ voor de wekelijkse erediensten en door de ‘Laatdienst’ (Alkmaarse Raad van Kerken) voor maandelijkse kerkdiensten.

Ik heb geprobeerd de kerk in zijn geheel op de foto te krijgen. Dat is me niet gelukt, enerzijds door de smalle straten en anderzijds omdat ik slechts een compactcamera met een 28mm lens ter beschikking had). Wellicht een andere keer beter (lees: meer).
