Українська: «Завершується 58-й день нашої оборони. Завершується у Страсну п'ятницю, один із найскорботніших днів року для християн. День, коли смерть, здається, перемогла. Але... Ми сподіваємося на воскресіння. Ми віримо в перемогу життя над смертю. І ми молимося, щоб смерть програла. В цьому році, у час повномасштабної війни, війни Росії проти нашої держави, ці слова мають для нас особливе значення. Росія принесла в Україну смерть. Після восьми років жорстокої війни на Донбасі Росія захотіла знищити нашу державу повністю. Буквально позбавити українців права на життя. Але якими б жорстокими не були битви, у смерті немає шансів перемогти життя. Це знає кожна людина. Це знає кожен християнин».

English: Statement by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the results of the 58th day of the war
"The 58th day of our defense is coming to an end. It ends on Holy Week, one of the most deplorable days of the year for Christians. A day when death seems to have prevailed. But... We look forward to the resurrection. We believe in the victory of life over death. And we pray that death will be defeated. In this year, during the full-scale war, the war of Russia against our country, these words have a special meaning for us. Russia has brought death to Ukraine. After eight years of brutal war in Donbas, Russia wanted to destroy our country completely. Literally deprive Ukrainians of their right to live. But no matter how brutal the battles are, death has no chance of surviving. Every human being knows this. Every Christian knows this.

"Der 58. Tag unserer Verteidigung neigt sich dem Ende zu. Sie endet in der Karwoche, einem der bedauerlichsten Tage des Jahres für Christen. Ein Tag, an dem der Tod die Oberhand gewonnen zu haben scheint. Aber... Wir hoffen auf Auferstehung. Wir glauben an den Sieg des Lebens über den Tod. Und wir beten, dass der Tod besiegt wird. In diesem Jahr, in der Zeit des großen Krieges, des Krieges Russlands gegen unser Land, haben diese Worte eine besondere Bedeutung für uns. Russland hat den Tod in die Ukraine gebracht. Nach acht Jahren brutalem Krieg im Donbass wollte Russland unser Land vollständig zerstören. Den Ukrainern wird buchstäblich das Recht auf Leben abgesprochen. Aber egal wie brutal die Kämpfe sind, es gibt keine Chance, im Tod zu überleben. Jeder Mann weiß das. Jeder Christ weiß das. |
