| Description |
English: Smolny Cathedral. Français : couvent Smolny. Русский: Смольный собор (в центре изображения) был заложен в октябре 1748 года во время царствования императрицы Елизаветы Петровны. Возведение было начато в 1751 году и затянулось на десятилетия. Величественная 140 метровая колокольня спроектированная Растрелли , которая должна была располагаться перед собором и иметь проезд для въезда в монастырь, так и не была построена, оставив не замкнутым внутренний двор комплекса.
