一万二千五百呎の標高を有する五臺の峻嶺は西南に廣大なる山裾を引いて、縣城の頭上に威カツに差迫つて居る。山の斜面に築かれた城壁の高さ幾十丈、雛段式に築き上げられたるところ頗る奇觀だ。左方黃土の斷崖にはみ出でたる城外の部落は楡の林に圍まれて美しい。 (印畫の複製を嚴禁す)
