葛根廟會（打鬼ノ一）

この図は、蒙古喇嘛寺の祭典の際行はれる蒙古語のサーガルチヤトムの光景である。サーガルチヤムとは、供養舞と云つて、十地菩薩に扮した十六人の天女が奏楽に合せて跳るのである。錦衣長袖を纏ひ、跳るさまは頗る優雅なもので、廟会第一の観物となつてゐる頭に冠つてゐるのは、菩薩の像を飾りつけた帽子で、その帽子には鶏の尾羽が飾つてある喇嘛ではこの跳りを称して打鬼と云ふのである。打鬼のことは、別に跳鬼、又は跳舞とも云はれてゐるが、兎に角、廟会で行はれる跳の総てを打鬼と云ふのである。（印画複製禁）
