我們現在這裡，是冷水坑上方的觀景台，這裡同時也是冷水坑附近最好的眺望點。請您往東邊看去，遠景是頂山、石梯嶺、擎天崗，近景則是雞心崙和七股山，您仔細看看七股山，山頭的植被一半是茂密的森林，另一半則是翠綠的高草原，似乎是剪了一個龐克頭，這究竟是誰的傑作呢？原來呀，每年九月開始吹的東北季風，就像理髮師一樣，每天刮呀刮的，幾乎刮了半年，所以北向的坡面就長不出高大的樹木，只剩下生命力強韌的芒草與箭竹，而南向坡面因位於背風面，所以植物生長旺盛，而呈現比較完整的森林面貌。 在陽明山國家公園的迎風面您都可以看到樹木受到風壓作用，枝條向一邊傾斜，或是一邊枝椏乾禿的風剪現象，站在這裡，我們可以看到東北季風在七股山留下鮮明的足跡，也同時見證了季風對植物生長的影響。 台灣是個海島，冬季時強勁的東北季風，帶來又濕又冷的天氣，陽明山國家公園各個山頭首當其衝，因為地理和氣候因素的影響，氣溫明顯降低，造就了陽明山地區特殊的生態景觀；秋、冬季節登山健行賞景，也別忘了多帶幾件衣物保暖喔！ |
