Description

Drinks'er on me! On Saturday night I ran the trap after 4 nights break trapping elsewhere it was time to find out what was lurking in the garden at night. The trap was pleasingly full come the morning and a plethora of new for year moths were headed up by two new Macro moths, the Drinker and a Small Elephant Hawk-moth.

The Small Elephant Hawk-moth seems to be quite localised in East Herts, as opposed to West Herts where it is relatively frequent.

Two Common Rustics trapped, looked good candidates for Lesser Common Rustic, both will be examined soon.

Also, where are all the Willow Beauties this year? Plenty of Mottled, but Willow seem to be quite scarce.

Back to trapping tonight if this storm subsides.
