Description(1257) Cydia nigricana (34305489790).jpg |
I joined fellow friend and County Moth Recorder Colin Plant for a wander around Hexton Chalk Pit on Sunday afternoon for a few hours, Colin had already done some field work there early afternoon, but with the windy conditions it was far from ideal. It was however really mild and temperatures got to just shy of 21 degrees by 4pm. It was great to see Cauchas fibulella still present amongst the Germander Speedwell, a quick few flicks of the net over the foodplant, yielded 2 examples In total we saw.. 1x Common Carpet 1x Grass Rivulet 1x Red Twin-spot Carpet 1x Green Carpet 3x Small Purple-barred 1x Cydia nigricana 2x Cauchas fibulella 4x Pyrausta nigrata A few Dingy Skipper Brimstone Small Tortoiseshell Red Admiral |
