The Pelvis. The uterus and its appendages, as the tubes and ovariesare called, lie in a bony basin, called the pelvis. WOMANS OTHER PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS. The average woman weighs about twenty pounds lessthan the average man and is five inches less in height. Hershoulders are narrower and more rounded and set furtherback; the collar bone is longer and less curved, giving thechest greater prominence; the pelvic bones are larger andspread out more, making the hips much broader in outline.All the other bones, however, are smaller and more deli-cately fashioned.
