Description
Deutsch: Die per Definition vordere Sektion der Lokomotive; die Ausgleichshebel zeigen, dass die Lauf- und die erste Treib sowie die zweite und dritte Treibachse mit Ausgleichshebeln verbunden sind. Damit stützt sich jede Sektion in vier Punkten auf dem Laufwerk ab.

Die Maschinenraumfenster dieser Sektion sind mit Fett von innen undurchsichtig gemacht. Der Maschinenraum ist zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt noch nicht wieder hergerichtet, nachdem die Lokomotive beim Einsatz als Transformatorstation für die Weichenheizungsspeisung im Bahnhof Halle (Saale) Hbf einen Brandschaden erlitten hatte.
