NEWPORT, R.I. (April 14, 2016) Cmdr. Joe Root, assigned to U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM), speaks with participants of a Counter-Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (CUUV) capabilities workshop held at U.S. Naval War College (NWC) in Newport, R.I. The purpose of the three-day workshop was to characterize and inform the nature of the CUUV challenge, define capability gaps, and identify capability opportunities in support of Office of Naval Research and USPACOM research. The workshop also served as an opportunity to contribute to NWC’s mission to support combat readiness and define future Navy roles and missions by laying the groundwork for future force capability.
