Summary[edit]

Description
English: Both ALSTAR (QLD) and TARUA (NZ) competed in the 1951 World's 18-footers Championship in Sydney Harbour. ALSTAR was skippered by Kev Martin and TARUA by Jack Logan. Logan competed with the Auckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association class registration number 'V 5' on the mainsail, and sailed TARUA to second place. The championship was won by MYRA TOO, an Australian yacht designed, built and skippered by William Barnett of Berrys Bay, Sydney.
