1813 Flint Lead Works Penny Token
Description
English: Copper alloy penny token of the Flint Lead Works dated 1813. Both sides are quite worn, but the obverse would have depicted view of the works of Roskell, Tipton and Company from the rear, with the stacks of the six smelting furnaces, a quay, crane and a small coasting vessel. Above the image is the lettering FLINT LEAD WORKS; below the image is the date 1813. On the reverse is the lettering ONE POUND NOTE FOR 240 TOKENS around a circular central disk containing the lettering ONE PENNY TOKEN. See also record CPAT-D60B77 on the database.
