Deutsch: Wasserkraft in Höxter

NRW-Klimaschutzminister Johannes Remmel hat heute (4. Mai) anlässlich seiner Klimaschutztour gemeinsam mit seinem Staatssekretär Udo Paschedag und einer Delegation der EnergieAgentur.NRW den Schauplatz für eines der derzeit größten Wasserkraftprojekte Deutschlands besucht. Bis 2019/2020 will die Trianel GmbH, ein Zusammenschluss von 51 Stadtwerken mit Hauptsitz in Aachen, auf dem Gebiet der Städte Höxter und Beverungen für rund 500 Millionen Euro ein Pumpspeicherkraftwerk entstehen lassen. Derzeit wird die Machbarkeit des Projektes geprüft, die Räte der betroffenen Städte haben sich bereits im Juli 2011 für die positive Begleitung ausgesprochen. "Nach neuen Speichertechnologien zu suchen, bedeutet nicht, dass wir künftig auf bewährte und gleichsam nachhaltige Energiespeicher wie die Pumpspeicherkraftwerke verzichten können. Wir müssen sämtliche Potenziale der Wasserkraft für die Energiewende nutzen", erklärte Minister Johannes Remmel.
