Tartan Turquoise. The EH Holden was built from August 1963-Feb 1965. Although visually just a facelift on the EJ, the roofline was revised and front and tail end treatment. The big news was, the introduction of the new updated Red motor, not only increased capacity, but many improvements as well; hydraulic valve lifters, 7 main bearings instead of the old greys 4. That good, this motor stayed in service until 1985. Like the EJ, the EH was available in three models; Standard; 149 cu in, rubber floor mats and single tone paint. Special; carpet, stainless steel side moulds, 179 cu in option, two tone paint option. Premier; 179 cu in, auto, leather interior, bucket seats, console, special wheel trims , extra chrome and Gold Premier badges. Engine; 149 or 179 red 6 cyls Sedan; Standard, Special, Premier Wagon; Standard, Special or Premier also Utility and Panel Van With a win at Bathurst in mind, in Sept 1963, a performance version was built, the S4, it got the 179 cu in and manual trans (all other 179 cars were autos). 126 were made. Only 11 are accounted for today. |
