Description

In 1962 the MGA was replaced by the MGB, getting a redesigned lighter body and chassis giving it more space. It was also a better handling car. In England the Mk I was made from 1962-67, also assembled in Australia from 1963-72. Originally only available as a Roadster The 1967-69 MGC was a 2912 cc, straight-6 version of the MGB The engine was from the Austin 3-litre 4-door saloon and given twin carbs. The body shell needed considerable revision around the engine bay and to the floor pan, but externally the only differences were a distinctive bonnet bulge to accommodate the relocated radiator and a teardrop for carburettor clearance.
