Summary

[edit]
Description

Brambles Red First Fully Australian Designed Falcon, the XA got an entirely new body, more roomy than the XY the Hardtop was also reintroduced. The GT was now little more subtle, no superoo decals and only 2 small scoops on the bonnet. The GTHO was designed and built, all to be sedans, the only external difference was the Globe wheels, mechanically similar to the Phase 3 but improvements to the heads. 200 were to be built, but due to the media reporting that the Australian muscle car was getting too fast, it was dropped, only 4 were built, but only one production car was built by Ford, a Calypso Green car with white interior trim. This car is one of the three Brambles Red/black trim cars which were handbuilt prototypes destined for the 1972 Hardie-Ferodo race at Bathurst. Two of the red cars were to be raced by Allan Moffat and Fred Gibson, I believe this is the third car, which was kept as a spare. They were hand built, seam welded, roll cage and the engine was blueprinted producing almost 400hp
