Description

The ZF Fairlane was built from April 1972-Nov 1973. It was based on the XA Falcon, the first of the completely Australian designed Falcons, this new Falcon got an entirely new rounded body. Inside the seats were improved with new high backs in the front and the new wrap around dash was likened to an aircraft cockpit. The longer wheelbase Fairlane got a twin headlight grille with eight vertical rectangles, with the centre part bulging out and a unique tail light panel that ran the full width of the car. The front and centre of the Fairlane remained the same as the Falcon, but the Fairlane got a longer tail, the rear seat moved back for more leg room. In August 1973 the upmarket LTD was introduced with hidden headlamps and vinyl roof. Engines; 250 6 cyl standard on Custom

The Fairlane 500 also got the chrome strip below doors and around wheel arches
