Description

A very rare and desirable car, and unique to New Zealand too. The 1200 SSS was created by Nissan NZ as a high performance model with twin Dell'orto carburettors that put out 90bhp to the standard car's 69. I believe the SSS was a homologation model for the 1200 to be used in local Benson & Hedges car racing. The cars themselves were assembled at Campbell Motors in Thames before the motors were delivered to Performance Specs in Papakura, Auckland for enhancement.

Only 800 were ever made and all featured these distinctive black rectangular stripes on the bonnet and boot, as well as high back sports seats and tachometer. I imagine they are worth a bit nowadays!

The 1200 SSS was replaced by the 120Y SSS.
