Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1GL bench mark on the Masonic Hall, Hawarden. This bench mark is on the north east corner of the Masonic Hall on Gladstone Way. A plaque on the wall of the building has the date '1913' on it, however, a book, which is held at Flintshire Archives, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the St Deiniol's Lodge 1908-2008, confirms that this building was built in 1834 as an Elementary Boys School. The school closed in September 1912, in November 1912 it was leased to the Masons, and, after some internal alterations were carried out, the first meeting was held in January 1913. The bench mark, therefore, is mark 92 and part of the First Geodetic Levelling carried out between Warrington and Pembroke Docks, through Chester, Flint 1851-2. See also the hall 1479599
