English: A montage of notable people of and events in the 1980s including (clockwise from top left): Diana, Princess of Wales; Boris Becker at the 1994 Thriftway Championships, Cincinnati, Ohio; Space Shuttle Challenger which exploded on 28 January 1986, killing all seven crew members; a computer keyboard; Live Aid at the JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1985; German chancellor Helmut Kohl; Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and US President Ronald Reagan; people atop the Berlin Wall near the Brandenburg Gate on 9 November 1989; an audio cassette tape; Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, scene of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986; and a Rubik's cube.
