Summary
[edit]Description20-20 vision in Hope - geograph.org.uk - 1639432.jpg |
English: 20-20 vision in Hope The Hope Cement Works are linked to the national railway network at Earles Sidings, a reminder of the company that first set up the works, by a private railway line about 1½ miles long. Wagons are worked to and fro over this and shunted within the works by a small fleet of ex-British Railways locomotives, one of which, a Class 20, is seen on the left outside the company's workshop building where locos and wagons are maintained. A second Class 20 was hidden beyond this loco. Through the shed on the right, in which incoming coal wagons were unloaded, can just be seen a yellow striped diesel loco from one of the industrial locomotive builders. |
