Description
English: U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Israel Del Toro and British Armed Forces team captain David Henson engaged in friendly banter during the track and field competition as part of the inaugural Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded warriors to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their countries. Del Toro was part of the US team includes 98 military athletes: 22 from the Army, 20 from the Marine Corps, 22 from the Navy, 22 from the Air Force and 12 from U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Inspired by the U.S. Warrior Games, Prince Harry and the Royal Foundation Invictus Games, hosted this international sports competition involving cycling, swimming, track & field, archery, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and indoor rowing, and powerlifting. In total nearly 400 athletes from 13 nations participated in the games.
