Summary

[edit]
Description

Introduced in 2008, the new Challenger shared many design elements with the 1st generation of the early 70s. It was built on a shortened Dodge Charger/Chrysler 300C chassis and featured Mercedes Benz suspension and was only available as a 2 door coupe. The 2015 facelift got a divide grille like the 1971 Challenger, pre facelift had a grille like the 1970 Challenger. Available in; SXT (3.5l V6 until 2011, then 3.6l V6),

           RT (375hp 5.7litre Hemi V8)
           SRT8 (6.1l until 2011, then 485hp 6.4l Hemi V8).
           SRT Hellcat (707hp 6.4l V8)
Chrysler claims the Challenger SRT Hellcat is the most powerful muscle car ever, with a top speed of 199 mph and a qtr mile time of 11 secs. The inner driving light on the left front has been removed to allow air to get into the engine resulting in more torque, and the wheel wells are different from the standard SRT to accommodate the 20-inch aluminum wheels. The SRT Hellcat will come equipped with two separate key fobs; use of the black fob will limit engine output to 500 horsepower, while the red fob will enable the full output capability
