Description Due to ex-Hurricane Ophelia’s passage over Ireland, the storm system brought Saharan dust (and possibly ash from the wildfires in Spain and Portugal) on its eastern flank. This meant a yellow sky and a fiery red dot where the sun would normally be, over much of England for a couple of hours around lunchtime. It cleared in our area by mid-afternoon, but I found it quite eerie at the time...
