English: ZAGAN, Poland – M1A2 Abrams Tanks belonging to 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, line up Jan. 19 prior to beginning the day’s gunnery range. The tanks and the Soldiers arrived in Poland earlier this month from Colorado Springs. The arrival of 3rd Arm. Bde. Cmbt. Team marks the start of back-to-back rotations of armored brigades in Europe as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The vehicles and the Soldiers will spend the remainder of the month training and making sure their vehicles are in good-working order before deploying across Eastern Europe for use in training with partner nations. This rotation will enhance deterrence capabilities in the region, improve the U.S. ability to respond to potential crises and defend allies and partners in the European community. U.S. forces will focus on strengthening capabilities and sustaining readiness through bilateral and multinational training and exercises. |
