Summary[edit]

Description
Deutsch: Ansicht des 591. Hofer Schlappentages.
English: View of the 591st Hof Schlappentag. Schlappentag began for some already at 5 o'clock by musical wake-up calls at prominent citizens of the city of Hof. At 8 o'clock the festive march started at the Schießhäuschen and ran to the town hall (for this purpose parts of the streets were closed). At the city hall at shortly after 9 o'clock there was the receipt by mayor Eva Döhla together with Schützenkommissar with official announcement of the Schlappen Schützenkönig or -queen. At about 10 o'clock the festive march began at the city hall, over old part of town and beyond the Strauß area over the Marienstraße to the Schießhäuschen. The Hof Schlappentag is considered Hof's "national" holiday and has recently become an intangible cultural heritage. Here, Eva Döhla explains how Schlappentag could be elevated to intangible cultural heritage and what had to be considered. This source material is unedited and can be used for edits.
