Summary[edit]
DescriptionA1 Drum-House - geograph.org.uk - 283821.jpg |
English: A1 Drum-House. This was the lowest drum house on this 9 pitched incline which bought finished slate products down from the western half of the Dinorwig Quarry to Gilfach Ddu where the trucks were loaded, four at a time, on each of the larger trucks of the Padarn Railway. This drum house had by its side a brakeman's cabin which had its own home comforts including, in winter, a blazing fire. The brakeman's job was to control the descent of the trucks on his particular pitch. 285354 |
