English: A537 from Shining Tor The A537 from Macclesfield to Buxton was riskiest in a calculation based on numbers of accidents and volume of traffic.
The single-lane road across the Derbyshire Peak District had 250 fatal or serious accidents for every billion kilometres travelled on it. That gave it a Black rating meaning you are 30 times more likely to die on it than on the majority of roads. (SUN June 2008) |
