Theilluminations are here generally of a very inferior cha-racter : but the first has much merit, and is by a supe-rior hand. The text is executed in a running secretaij^Gothic. A crucifix and altar are beneath it.There is but one other similar illumination in thevolume ; and each nearly occupies the whole of thepage — which is almost twenty-three inches longby fourteeen wide. The other illumination is hardlyworth describing. The scription of the MS. is in alarge lower-case gothic character; and the maps at theend are coloured in the usual fashion of the day—ingreen and blue, representing water, ^his noble vo-lume, which almost made the bearer stoop beneath itsweight, is bound in wood :—covered w
