John Dunlop purchased most of the printin.fr materialat the Sower sale, and in 1784, established, in connec-tion with Michael Billmeyer, a printing establishmentin Germantown, which may be considered a revival ofthe Sower press. Billmeyer was Leiberts son-in-law.Peter Leibert was a brother-in-law to Alexander Mack,having married Mary Nice, December 7, 1749. In 1788 he became sole owner of the press and in1791 his son, William, became a partner. In this year,1791, they issued the first English In-mn book of theBrethren. The full title is The Christian Duty ex-hibited in a Series of Hymns collected from variousAuthors. Designed for the worship of God and forthe edification of Christians. Recommended to theserious of all Denominations by the Baptists of Ger-mantown. It was a neat i2mo. of three hundred

Peter Leibert was a good writer and a successfulpreacher of the Brethren, and with the Sowers main-tained an almost uninterrupted leadership in Germanprinting from 1739 to 1796. This is a record of theearly church for which the Brotherhood may well begrateful. Peter Leibert died June 9, 1812, and is buried in theBrethren burying ground at Germantown. 8. Two Unknozvn VolumesS^^ A Choice Selection of Hymns for the Glory ofChrist, is the title of a volume published in 1814, atMathetchy, Pa., by Abraham Krupp, who was a mem-ber of the Brethren church. There is in the Cassel collection an unfinished vol-ume. It is a part of Macks Rites and Ordinances.The volume was being translated into English byHenry Schlingluff, a deacon of the Germantownchurch. The book ends abruptly and has written aft-er the last printed lines these words: T
