English: A member of the United Nations(U.N.) Command honor guard stands at attention as members of the Korean People's Army prepare to move the remains of U.N. servicemen cross the Military Demarcation Line for a repatriation ceremony held at the Joint Security Area, Panmunjom, Republic of Korea, Nov.6, 1998. Repatriation of Korean War remains are the result of a joint U.S./Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea joint recovery operation within North Korea to locate and return the U.S. service members to their homeland through Panmunjom. Twenty-two service members have been returned this year, 29 since the joint recovery operation began in 1996. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Steve Faulisi)(Released) |
