The Elbow.—Antero-posterior and lateral views shouldbe taken in case of doubt. The A. P. view showsthe lower end of the humerus and the upper end of theradius to the best advantage, while the lateral view bringsout the ulna and its olecranon process. FOREARM. 145 For the A. P. view rest the olecranon on the centre ofthe plate, and support the hand. The normal raytraverses the centre of the joint. The Forearm is best done in supination, but a lateralview should also be taken in cases of fracture.

Pelvis. — The plate is placed behind the sacrumand the normal ray passes down through a point midwaybetween the umbilicus and the symphysis. In doing the bladder the normal ray should correspondto a perpendicular from the centre of the plane of thepelvic brim.
