Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A winged soul at Channelkirk Churchyard. This beautiful winged soul adorns this old gravestone in a corner of Kirktonhill churchyard. A winged soul is an emblem of immortality representing the soul leaving the body at the time of death and ascending to wait until the Day of Judgement, when the body would rise to join it. The stone is for Marion Brock who died in 1721 aged 19. For a view of the other side of this stone and engraving details, see 894727.
