In this group of states are made cloth, boots andshoes, hardware, firearms and other goods of various kinds. Massachusetts. Fall River and Lowell manufacture more cotton cloththan any other two cities in America. Lawrence, a littlebelow Lowell on the Merrimac, takes high rank in bothwoolen and cotton goods. Cambridge is the seat of Harvard University. Lynn, Haverhill and Brockton lead in the manufactureof boots and shoes.
