Description
English: The foundered Philippine frigate BRP Datu Kalantiaw (PS-76) on 22 September 1981. She was driven aground during Typhoon Clara on 21 September 1981 on the rocky northern shore of Calayan Island, in the northern Philippines. 79 of the crew of 97 died. The Datu Kalantiaw had originally been commissioned as the U.S. Navy Cannon-class destroyer escort USS Booth (DE-170), in 1943.
