Italiano: "Il dipinto costituisce una delle numerose versioni di ritratto conservate al Palazzo Reale di Caserta, il cui prototipo è indicato da Dussler (1942, pp. 117-118 n. 63) nel ritratto di collezione privata di Lipsia, che però è a tre quarti di figura. Altre derivazioni sono, come la presente, limitate alla sola testa (Colorno, Collezione Lombardi; Reims Musée des Beaux Arts; Roma, Galleria Borghese). Stilisticamente da ricondursi, anche in base a quanto stabilito dalla critica che si è occupata degli altri ritratti del gruppo, alla cerchia romana di Jacopino dal Conte, toccata dall'ultima attività di Sebastiano del Piombo, oppure all'ambito fiorentino di Alessandro Allori. Nell'Inventario della villa del Poggio a Caiano del 1911, il quadro è così descrito: "Uno detto [...] rappresenta 'Ritratto di donna con velo in testa'. Autore ignoto, cornice gialla" (vecchio numero 218)" [1] |
