“New York Dec. 2 1852
R P Hunt Esq
Dear Sir
We are just in receipt of your letter of yesterday saying that you enclosed an invoice of 6 bales Cotton but it was [credited?] Please send [one?] You say you will send us a list of your taxable property [illegible] your drfts on us at 6 mos [oughts?] to be done at 5 % We quoted the rate yesterday 5 ½ % and had not heard 6 mos. passed of any name in quality - [illegible] as less - Our acceptance will sell in Wall Street at the very lowest rate for paper of equal date, and when any 6 months paper is done at 5 % ours will do.We wrote you yesterday that we would run the Mill in jointly with you till May if the manufacturing could be contracted for at not over 2 1/8 [cents] - We hope you will be able to get it for 2 [cents] We shall be glad to hear from you soon as it may be well to do on the book and [for?] cheap cotton - If it should go down we should be for buying we would till May
