| Description |
English: Alrewas Lock No 12, Trent and Mersey Canal in Staffordshire This lock lowers the water level to that of the River Trent, which enters the scene from the left below the lock. Beyond the lock, looking across the grazing land of the flood plain,the river swings to the right. Canal navigators share the course of the river for about the next three hundred metres. This should not be attempted when the river is in spate. |
