Description |
English: American Independence Day, London, 4th July 1918 - Central Hall, Westminster. Mr Winston Churchill speaking- 'germany must be beaten, must know she is beaten, must feel she is beaten.' image: a view of the crowded interior of Central Hall, Westminster, from under one of the balconies to the side of the hall. In the centre middle ground Churchill stands at a lecturn giving a speech. Behind him are numerous rows of politicians and dignitaries, bordered by two sets of flags. The stalls and far balcony are crammed full of people, while in the immediate foreground others look on towards Churchill, with two Indian soldiers and a Scottish soldier amongst them to the right. |
