English: In the U.S. Evacuation Hospital No. 3 in Trier, Germany, American Red Cross nurse Miss Elizabeth Anderson cooks for all patients who are on light and special diets, averaging 100 meals per day, 23 January 1919. On 2 December 1918 a part of Evacuation Hospital No. 3, consisting of 16 officers, 25 nurses, and 28 enlisted men reached Trier and was located to the Horn Kaserne (Horn Barracks) in Trier-West, together with Evacuation Hospital No. 12. The hospitals at West-Trier were to receive the sick from the U.S. 90th Infrantry Division. Note the German sign "Seid dankbar in allen Dingen" ("Always be thankful in all doings") and the manual bread cutting machine in the front of the picture. |
