for your inspection, in proof ofthe foregoing statements, a few photographs. Fig. 1 is a skiagraph showing a bullet of32 caliber in the chest. This ball enteredin the fourth interspace on the right sideof the sternum, passing upward and back-ward. Immediately after the injury it wasprobed for, but was not found. That itpassed through the lung there is no doubt,as blood was expectorated freely. Patientwas sent to the x ray laboratory, and the ball was located in the trapezious muscleabout an inch from the surface. It wasremoved through a very small incision.The man recovered. Fig. 2 shows a 22-caliber ball in the foot.This skiagraph was made with the shoeand sock on, which only adds to the won-der of the x ray work. The bullet waseasily removed after being located. The accompanying shadowgraph (Fig.381 shows a foreign body located in theesophagus just behind the larynx. The history given to me by her father isas follows: Seven months ago, while shewas playing with an old brass rivet whichI removed from a threshing machine belt,she swallowed it.
